Creating a club at my university to inspire other “Non-Music Majors” like myself to invest time in music and come up with creative ways to apply it to their respective majors, developing an Indie video game & composing the soundtrack, teaching piano lessons as well as tutoring Math and Engineering Mechanics, and I will also be inducted into the Aerospace Honor Society Sigma Gamma Tau for academic excellence in my major.
“Personally, one of my favorite songs from my time singing in the choir was the tribute song we sang to bid farewell to Ms. Mairee. Having the whole Concert Choir meet in secret with Ms. Betty to practice the song, surprising everyone during the concert with the performance, getting to sing in a lower register — all of these helped create something that I will remember fondly. I also enjoyed the Andre Rieu concert where we performed Earth Song by Michael Jackson alongside Andre and his widely popular orchestra. It is something that still baffles people when I tell them about the experience.”

At Oberlin, I fell in love with the world of opera and was lucky to perform several main stage roles including the title role of Massenet’s Cendrillon (Cinderella). Before I move to Cincinnati in the fall to pursue my Master’s degree, I will be spending my summer in Montecito, California as a Vocal Fellow at the Music Academy of the West. I will be covering the role of Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, as well as participating in numerous concerts, master classes, and opera scenes.
