Our concerts often invite local musicians and organizations to accompany our singers when they aren't doing it themselves. We acknowledge the unwaivering commitment of Patti Amato who has collaborated on piano and coaching with our choirs since [?????????]. From the youngest singers to the oldest, the choirs are: Treble Choir, Lyric Choir, Concert Choir. Enjoy these selections over the years from each choir, and from combined choirs.
Meryem, find this file in Dashboard > Posts > All Posts. Search for "Video Highlights". I recommend not putting too many videos up. This is arguably as much as you want to put up. The Social Media page gives links to view more, so you can be really picky here. Note: Should you choose to keep them, you'll need permission from Jenn Shapiro for Picfest videos, and the family of Anna Brashears for her lovely video about her time at CCM.
Beginning in 1976 with a small group of six students, Children’s Chorus of Maryland & School of Music (CCM) has grown to include three choirs of highly accomplished and talented children and is considered one of the most comprehensive music education and choral performance programs in the region. CCM celebrates its 40th anniversary with an exciting Spring Concert, 40 Years of Song, at Gordon Center for the Performing Arts in Owings Mills on Sunday, May 1st at 3 pm. Conducted by Artistic Director Susan Bialek, the concert features works by Galuppi, Holst, Bieble, Chilcott, Read, and Goetze. Special guests and collaborators include members of the Handel Choir of Baltimore as well as local-area instrumentalists: Eric Allard, Lindsey Zimmerman, Patrick Hoge and Julia Fitzgerald, violin; Jennifer Murray, viola; James McGonigle and Laurie Meeder, cello; and Julia Martyn Frazier, harp. At the conclusion of the concert, attendees are invited to a reception and a silent auction in support of CCM scholarships.
Not only did I learn to be a better musician from the wonderful teachers there, but I also learned and grew so much as a person.
Crystal Cheng, CCM alumna
As a special concert highlight, CCM’s current students will be joined by a choir of alumni spanning nearly the whole of CCM’s history. Children’s Chorus of Maryland has had a lasting impact on many of its Alumni as reflected in the remarks of those returning to sing. Lisa Anne Diver, 2005 CCM graduate and current Director of Upper School Music at Roland Park Country School, commented: “CCM instilled in me a love of learning and music; two things I try to incorporate into my life each and every day.” According to recent graduate, Crystal Cheng, “Not only did I learn to be a better musician from the wonderful teachers there, but I also learned and grew so much as a person. CCM is a community full of amazing and inspiring people!”
