The Cappella Festiva organization includes a 25-30 member children’s/youth choir, as well as a larger adult chamber choir, with whom Ms. Bialek sang for 10 years. The Concert Choir will work with Cappella Festiva under their new director of 5 years, Mr. Matthew Zydel, as well as the Vassar College Director of Choral Activities, Dr. Christine Howlett.
“Standing Together” is a collaborative performance featuring the Children’s Chorus of Maryland Concert Choir, Susan Bialek, conductor, and Cappella Festiva Treble Choir and Cor Capriccio Children’s Choir, Matthew Zydel, conductor, and Elizabeth Clifton, conductors. “Standing Together” will be performed on Sunday, October 27t at 1:00 PM in the Skinner Hall of Music at Vassar College.
In addition to performing, the Children’s Chorus of Maryland Concert Choir will visit Hyde Park, New York, home of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s residence and the Presidential Library along the Hudson river, at a particularly beautiful time of year. They also plan to walk the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park, the world’s longest elevated pedestrian bridge, which spans 1.28 miles over the Hudson River. The mini-tour will surely be an inspirational weekend for both Children’s Chorus of Maryland and Cappella Festiva.
