Summer Day Camp

Summer Day Camp A one of a kind musical experience for children who love to sing. Children learn songs, games, dances and choral repertoire on the Loyola University Campus in Baltimore. Offered by American Kodály Institute at Loyola University Maryland & Children’s Chorus of Maryland.

Camp Information and Rates

Half-Day campers enjoy singing games, puppet musicals, learning solfa hand signs, outdoor activities, crafts and more! Full-Day campers will have fun learning to play the ukulele, singing folk songs, practicing musicianship, outdoor activities, crafts and more!

Campers must bring their own bagged lunch and beverage. Daily snacks will be provided.

All campers participate in the Student Concert!

AGES & TIMES 5 ½ to 9 from 8am to 2:15pm – Half Day Campers
10 to 13 from 8am to 5:15pm – Full Day Campers - Camp ends after 1pm concert on the last day
DATES July 16 - July 20, 2018
Parents/Guardians are invited to a Student Concert at 1pm on the last day of camp

This is a drop-off program. Parents do not need to stay while kids are at camp.

Lauren McDougle

Program Director of Kodály Graduate Studies for the American Kodály Institute at Loyola University Maryland

Lauren McDougleMs. McDougle has served as camp director at the American Kodály Institute for the past three years. She currently teaches graduate level Materials classes in the summer at the American Kodály Institute and is a frequent presenter at workshops and professional development sessions in the state of Maryland. She has served on the Faculty of Children’s Chorus of Maryland & School of Music since 2008 and has taught Beginner I, Intermediate I, Intermediate II, Solfa II, and Solfa IV musicianship classes. Ms. McDougle teaches prekindergarten to fifth grade general music and chorus in the public schools, and instructs beginner and intermediate piano and clarinet students in her private studio. She graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio with a Bachelor's in Music Education and holds a Master's of Education in Kodály Music Education from the American Kodály Institute at Loyola University Maryland. Lauren received her Level I Orff-Schulwerk Certification from the Eastman School of Music.
