Thanks to the inspiration of CCM, I am now a music teacher at Sacred Heart School in Glyndon, MD. It's really neat to read everyone's updates and see how important music still is to us. CCM is to be thanked for that!
I would love to hear from my fellow choir members and am VERY much looking forward to the alumni concert.
I'm still in Baltimore (never left), studying film and chemistry at Towson. Not doing too much singing, but I am a member of the choir at Christ Lutheran Church (we sang there--remember Amy Miller's concussion?). I'm planning to attend the concert this Sunday and I'd love to see some familiar faces!
I definitely learned a lot. I still use those skills today when I sing with different choirs and groups. I would love to attend a concert when I am back in MD.
I was a Solfa II, left the same year that Ms. Macon did. I'm a graduate student in engineering.
I'm a CCM alum too! i think i was a member from 1988-1996 (but i'll have to check on that to be sure). anyway, i'm a master's student at hopkins now, so i'm still in the area. i would love to come to an anniversary event. it would be great to see some old friends. :)
I was in CCM for 7 years, and the things I learned while I was a student helped me immensely as a music management major at Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory of Music in Cleveland, OH. My professors were impressed at how well I knew and used Solfège and at my ability to read music and have it dictated to me--and I owe all of that knowledge to CCM.
It's great to read all these little bios here on the website and find out what everyone's up to! As for me, I'm the receptionist at my church, but I do sing with my church choir, which is just enough music for me. I'm looking forward to seeing some of my old friends at the Spring Concert on May 7! :)
I'm back in Baltimore, having recently moved down from Boston, and I am currently working in Fells Point. Feel free to send me an e-mail!
I actually just had a baby! (Josh Juhasz Finkelstein, born on Valentine's Day.) I am interested in Children's Chorus reunion activities, so keep me posted.
I have so many memories from my years with CCM...our concerts, operas (Carmen and La Boheme at The Lyric), throwing up during the taping of our televised Christmas concert that aired for five years straight, traveling to and performing in Alberta, Canada. As for me, I'm a former journalist for The Sun who is now a real estate agent in Baltimore. These days, my singing is relegated to loud renditions of the ABCs with my children. If anyone from my old CCM class is around, please e-mail me... I'd love to hear from you!
What great memories CCM holds. OKLAHOMA! nuff said. Well, maybe Michael Feinstein, too.
I have been living on Cape Cod for 3 years, practicing acupuncture. I'm getting married on May 20! This winter marks the first time since CCM that I was in an opera, and I am so glad to be singing again.
Children's Chorus of Maryland sparked a love of music and the arts that continues to be my passion. Although I am now an educator, I continue to sing music across diverse genre and settings. I would love to hear the chorus and introduce this beautiful world to children in my family. It's been some time since I have attended a concert. However, I will keep in touch and look for an opportunity.
John's mother writes: "John is living in Central Asia - in Uzbekistan! He was in the Peace Corps there for two years, and he married a young lady from Azerbaijan last November. They're living there for now - they may come to this country to live eventually."
It doesn't seem that long ago since we were all on those long bus trips, or running amuck through the halls of a hotel we were staying at, or making a scene singing our favorite concert pieces at some museum or something. :-)
These days, most of us barely have time to sing in the shower! I, for one, after graduating CCM, completely dropped music, persuing studies in Information Technology instead. While IT is an important and interesting topic, it's just not as fun! :-)I was delighted to hear that the chorus is having an anniversary celebration. I would be honored to be involved in any and all activities that are going to be planned. Thank you so much for contacting me, and keep me posted with any new informtion. Also, I contacted Nicholas SantaCroce, another former alumnist, and will keep him posted on any and all events as well. Thank you again for contacting me!
I was a CCM-er for almost 10 years, and I have a lot of great (and funny) memories (including trips to Ft. Worth and Oklahoma, operas, several MD State Fairs, and the National Christmas Tree-lighting). I'm living in NYC and working in book publishing.
Hey everyone...Good to see some names of CCM folks on here. Seems like a lifetime ago...I live in the Bronx now teaching high school religion. I'm also directing Godspell at the school, since I studied drama in college at Catholic U. I'm gonna try my best to come down for the concert and to see some old friends. Peace...
It's so cool to be able to check up with people I met in CCM. I miss singing so much. I am in college at Ohio Northern University. Being a Mechanical Engineering major, I don't have much time for music in my life right now. This is makes me sad. All I have to hold onto are recordings of "The Midge of Gold" and other great pieces we sang together.
My Mom is currently part of the CCM staff and has informed me that Bobby McFerrin is coming to visit the choir. I can not even put my jealousy into words. I'm even tempted to fly home for the weekend to be there. All I can say is keep singing and making the music that we all love. CCM will alway hold a special place in my memories.Have been singing Soprano with The Metropolitan Chorus in Arlington, VA for the last 4 years. Just recently returned from a 5-week trip to India.

How does everyone else know about the reunion? I was in CCM from the age of 5 until I was 17! I should know these things! CCM was my life. I am currently living in Towson, and believe it or not...a music teacher at Perry Hall Middle School. I actually graduated from college with a viola performance degree, but decided to teach when the abundance of viola gigs proved to be...not abundant. Anyway, I will be at the next reunion! Hope to see you there!!!

Talk about a blast from the past! I received a post card in the mail from CCM and noticing there was a website, I decided to check it out. It was great reading the names listed on the alumni list and having all kinds of memories rush back. I'm living in Fort Lauderdale now and working for a non-profit organization serving children and adults with developmental disabilities.
I was in Children's Chorus of Maryland for 2 years from 1993-1995. I got the postcard for the 25th Anniversary Concert (and dinner) and would like the participate in this event. Please e-mail me back when you can with more information on this celebration. Thanks!
I started as a student with ccm whe I was 6 and left when I graduated high school at 18. I taught some beginner classes for while I was a sophmore and junior in college at Goucher. I am now a professional singer and cosmetologist in Baltimore. I'm also a member of the Charm City Roller Girls, Baltimore's first all-female roller derby league!
Greetings fellow CCM alums! I was a first soprano with CCM until my 12-year old voice cracked and sent me hanging on for dear life as a second alto. Alas, thus ended my formal singing career. :) I'm now married, and after living in Asia for 3 years find myself for some bizzare reason living in Texas! Hope to get home to Baltimore at some point and see CCM in action!
My brother, Rick, and I were early members of CCM. Even though I was older, Rick was in CCM before I was. I saw him perform and that made me want to join.
I've worked as a Medical Technologist in microbiology at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore for 14 years. I was married and divorced, but kept my married name (just got used to it). Now I am the proud mother of a 7 month old baby girl named Hope Kathryn. She is a wonderful addition to my life although she keeps me busy. I will be attending (and singing in) the 25th anniversary concert in May.
I'm excited that I stumbled across the CCM website, its been fabulous reading up on people! I sang with the choir from '88-'96 and had a wonderful time, unfortunately I haven't been living in Balto since '96 so I haven't made it to any of the choir's recent concerts. Hopefully I'll be able to attend one in the near future, I'd love to see everyone! Anyway, I graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor's in Russian Studies and Music (go figure) and am currently a medical student at Tulane Univ. School of Medicine in New Orleans.
Looking forward to catching up with old friends! I'd love to hear from you!
I would like to see some old CCMers that I used to hang out with but have lost touch with.
I'm currently living in CO and recently started my own private practice as a music therapist. I have also been singing with the Colorado Symphony Orch. Chorus for the past 4 years.
I don't remember when I did CCM - I do remember not doing it in middle school, though. It's so great to find out that CCM is going strong - I haven't heard from anyone in years! I'm finishing up my junior year at Hopkins (haven't moved out of Baltimore yet) and this concert sounds like fun! Wow, what memories this brings back - anyone remember the Channel 2 Christmas concert? I still have that picture!
I participated when I was 5 years old until I moved out of the Baltimore area when I was eight I absolutely would love to participate in an alumni activity.
Found the website finally! I just finished up my junior year at Wheaton College in IL., majoring in Psychology but doing some music stuff on the side. My favortite memory from CCM is our tight, effortless harmony: at rehearsals, riding on a bus, or walking down the street. Feel free to email me, I'd love to hear from ya.
I am now the first CCM alumni board member, even though I live in Philadelphia. I am a website designer and have recently received a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Biology. I am currently completing my master's degree in Conservation Biology. I have a daughter, Megan, age 17 who has always loved to sing and who has been in numerous musicals.
I was a member of the CCM back in 1982-1986??? I remember that we started off in the basement of St.Paul's school for Boys, and then we moved to TSU campus. I would love to hear anything you have going for an alumni reunion, but I do work in the restaurant business so weekends are very rough to get off. My sister who was also in the chorus is living in Pittsburgh, but I am still here in Towson.
can't wait to all be singing together again!
...The only thing keeping me from coming out for the reunion would be one of two operas I may have been cast in for one of the lead roles...
I'm so excited for the anniversary concert! I often think fondly of my time with CCM and can't wait to reunite with some old friends and instructors.
I got a Bachelor's of Music in Voice from IU (studying with Martina Arroyo) and a Masters of Music in Voice from Peabody (studying with Phyllis Bryn-Julson). Now, I'm singing around Baltimore as often as I can (solo), and have a duo with Mark Cudek (Peabody Renaissance faculty) called "Duo Encina." We'll be performing at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival and Boston Early Music Festival this summer. I'll try to make it for the anniversary on Sunday!
Wow, can't believe it's been 12 years since I graduated from CCM. I'm still in Baltimore, working in public health surveillance. Also still singing with BCAS. Feel free to email!
